During the United Nations General Assembly held on 20th June 2012, it was established that the 20th March would be marked International Day of Happiness. The sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly was convened at the initiative of Bhutan a country who led by example and recognized the supremacy of National Happiness over National Income since the 1970's. Secretary General Ban Kimon and the General Assembly of the UN passed a resolution and proclaimed the 20th March as International Day of Happiness in recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as a universal goal in each individuals life.

Since that time many countries have launched the "Happy Video"  to Pharrell Williams Happy Song, various countries including London, Germany and Jamaica. Barbados has recently launched theirs and can be seen on youtube titled Happy Barbados. http://youtu.be/6bbXoPXHBZg
